Privacy policy

This policy applies to suncoastsolar.net and its subdomains, and to the phone, text and email conversations that start there. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email info@suncoastsolar.net.

Who we are

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to answer your request and, if you go ahead, to design and install your project.

• Quote and contact forms: your name, phone number, email address, city or ZIP code, whether you own your home, what you are interested in, your average monthly electric bill range, and anything you type in the message box.
• Calls, texts and email: the contents of the conversation and your contact details.
• Project information, if you become a customer: your service address, copies of utility bills you send us, roof and electrical details, and the paperwork needed for permits, utility interconnection and rebates.
• Website usage: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and the page or campaign that brought you here (see Analytics and cookies below).

How we use it

• To respond to your request and prepare a quote.
• To design, permit, install and service your system.
• To schedule appointments and send updates about your project.
• To tell you about relevant SunCoast services and offers, which you can opt out of at any time.
• To understand how the website is used and fix problems.
• To meet legal and licensing obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Calls, texts and email consent

When you submit a form on this site or give us your number by phone, you agree that SunCoast Solar may contact you about your request by phone call, text message (SMS) and email, including with automated dialing or texting technology. Consent is not a condition of buying anything from us. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

• To stop texts: reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.
• To stop calls or email: tell the person you are speaking with, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email info@suncoastsolar.net.

We do not share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and how visitors arrive at the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your IP address, device type and pages viewed. Google processes that information under its own privacy policy. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site will still work if you do.

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Besides analytics, we may use cookies to remember basic preferences and to measure whether an advertisement led to a quote request. We do not use cookies to build a profile of you for sale to others.

Instant estimate tool

The “Get an instant estimate” button takes you to a subdomain of our website that runs on Demand IQ, a third-party estimate platform. Information you enter there (address, bill amount, contact details) is collected by Demand IQ on our behalf and shared with us so we can follow up. Demand IQ’s own privacy policy also applies to that tool.

Sharing with financing partners and others

If you ask us to arrange financing, we share the information needed for a loan application with the lender or financing partner you choose, such as Dividend, ELN (Energy Loan Network) or a credit union. We do this only with your consent and only for your application. The lender’s privacy policy governs what they do with it.

We may also share information with:

• Equipment manufacturers, to register warranties and monitoring accounts for your system.
• Cities, counties and utilities, to pull permits and file interconnection and rebate paperwork.
• Service providers that host our website, forms, email, CRM and scheduling tools, under contracts that limit their use of your data.
• Authorities when required by law, or to protect our rights or safety.

How long we keep it

If you request a quote but do not become a customer, we keep your inquiry for up to two years so we can follow up and answer questions, then delete or anonymize it. If you become a customer, we keep project records for the life of your warranty and production guarantee (25 years) plus any period required by California contractor, tax and records laws. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in Google Analytics, currently 14 months.

Security

Forms on this site are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to customer records is limited to team members who need it for your project. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send Social Security numbers or full financial account numbers through the website; financing partners collect those through their own secure applications.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you live in California, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with.
• Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions such as records we must keep for a contract, warranty or legal requirement.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email info@suncoastsolar.net with the subject line “Privacy request” or call (661) 524-6522. We will verify your identity by matching the details you provide against our records, and we will respond within the time the law allows (generally 45 days). You may authorize someone else to make a request for you; we may ask for proof of that authorization.

Children

This website is for adults who own or manage property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Links to other sites

We link to manufacturer, lender, review and government websites. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we use information you have already given us will be communicated by email where we have one on file.
